Don passed away on November 2, 2012 at his home in West Fargo, ND, surrounded by his family, under the care of Hospice.

Don J. Dolezal was born on May 10, 1932 in Lidgerwood, ND. He was the son of Joseph W. and Albina (Kordovsky) Dolezal. He lived in Lidgerwood until he enlisted in the military in 1950 where he served in Japan and Korea reaching the rank of Sergeant as a paratrooper in the 187th Airborne Division. After being discharged, he began working construction and was employed with Jens Tennefos Contracting for nearly 20 years. For the latest 20 years of his employment, Don was with Industrial Builders until his retirement in 1998. He continued to work part time with Industrial in the summers after his retirement.

Don was the cherished husband of Marilyn (Nelson) for 54 years, revered father of Don (Astrid) and Debra (Rick) Lohr and loving grandfather of Alyssa Lohr, and Joseph, Jacob and Alice Jean Dolezal. He is survived by his brother, John; and many other cherished family members.  Don was preceded in death by his parents; and his brother, Leonard.

Don had a great love for the outdoors and enjoyed hunting and fishing. He was a member of the DAV, VFW, and American Legion.

The family would like to offer a very special thank you to Hospice of the Red River Valley and Spectrum Home Health for the love and care given to Don and their entire family during his illness.

  8. Littleton COMarilyn and Family –

Don was a great “older” cousin for all of us Kordovskys. We always looked up to him as we were growing up – and as an adult. He was so loving and kind. When we met you and Don anywhere, there was always the big smile, big hug and a big welcome…you knew he was genuinely glad to see you. You, your family and grandchildren and John, are in our thoughts and prayers. God Bless.
    Love, Shirley and Tom Abegg
