Doris Fanning
January 8, 1931 ~ November 29, 2013
Doris Evelyn Fanning, loving wife of 62 years, caring mother and friend. Born 1931 in Alfalfa, Oklahoma, Doris was the fifth of Mae and Loren Fullerton's six children. In 1952, Doris graduated from the Oklahoma Women's College with a B.S. in Home Economics. On September 4, 1953 she married Carl Fanning, and they travelled with their family from farm to river to mountains to desert to prairie. She warmed family and friends with her delight and appreciation for the small things and showed deep strength in the challenging ones. Doris's joyful spirit endures for her husband, Carl, her son and daughter-in-law Mark & JoAnna Fanning and their daughter and two sons and families, daughter and son-in-law Connie & Randy Gackstetter, son and daughter-in law Barry and Suzanne Fanning and their five children, and for all of the good friends and relatives across the country.
Please offer any monetary remembrances to her church home of 34 years, Temple Baptist Church, Fargo North Dakota.

Belleville NJI am Alice Zahnow’s daughter. I was so blessed to know Doris. She faithfully prayed for my family through some very dark days. She was truly one of the gentlest and kindest people that I have ever known. She was one of the least self absorbed people I have ever run across. She always asked how we were and she really wanted to know. She asked specifically about children and seemed genuinely interested in what was going on in the lives of others. She rarely if ever complained about her health and her love for Jesus was apparent in her day to day life. I know she is free and rejoicing at the throne of grace. She ran the race with joy,kindness,compassion,and love. Blessings to you and your family and my prayers are with you.
