Dorothy Hawkins Hillsboro, North Dakota Dorothy passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, February 18, 2007. Dorothy Lorraine Lee was born on June 23, 1931 in Nelson County, North Dakota, the daughter of Joseph and Olive (Peterson) Lee. She was baptized on August 9, 1931 at the Center Lutheran Church near McVille, ND and confirmed on June 9, 1946 at Lakota Lutheran Church in Lakota, ND. She grew up near Pekin, ND and attended school in Lakota. Dorothy was united in marriage to James Hawkins on August 22, 1948 at Lakota Lutheran Church. They made their home in Lakota where she worked for Johnson?s Store until the family moved to Cando, ND in 1954. In Cando, Dorothy worked for the local drug store until moving to Grand Forks, ND in 1962. She worked for Woolworth?s in Grand Forks prior to moving to Hillsboro in 1964. Dorothy worked for Johnson?s Store and also the Jack and Jill Grocery Store both in Hillsboro. They moved to Fargo in 1973. Dorothy spent many years working as a cook for the Fargo Public Schools and after her retirement she also worked at St. Vincent de Paul. James passed away on August 31, 1989 and she moved to Hillsboro in 2004. Dorothy is survived by her son, Gary (Mary Ellen) Hawkins of Hillsboro; her daughters, Connie Geiszler and Lois Clark, both of Fargo; and Kari (Daniel) Walock of Faribault, MN; her grandchildren, Stacy Hawkins, Amy Hawkins, Melissa Geiszler, Marcus Geiszler, Kristine Clark, James Clark, Michael Clark, Timmothy Clark, Kayleigh Walock, Kelsey Walock, and Keaton Walock; and her great grandchildren, Blake, Ryan Kelly, Kylie, and Ashton. Her parents; her husband, James; a brother and sister; and 3 infant siblings, preceded her in death. VISITATION: 1-4PM Wednesday at Boulger Funeral Home in Fargo ? and also one hour prior to the funeral in the church on Thursday FUNERAL: 11 AM Thursday, February 22, 2007 at Hope Lutheran Church ?
