Dorothy R. Heier, 89, passed away September 18, 2018 at Villa Maria Nursing Home, Fargo. Dorothy was born April 12, 1929 to Fredrick and Emma Stelter. Dorothy married Ray in Moorhead, MN. Dorothy was a homemaker most of her life, taking care of her two children. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her.
Dorothy is survived by her son, Steve Heier; son in law, Terry Richardson; sister, Arlene; and two grandchildren four great grandchildren.
Dorothy is preceded in death by her husband Ray Heier; daughter Linda Richardson; parents, Fredrick and Emma Stelter; brothers, Bud, Hank, Victor, Emanuel, Fern, Earl; sister, Ilene; and daughter in law, Diane Heier.
Visitation will at 9:00 AM followed by a funeral service at 10:00 AM Saturday September 29, 2018 at Boulger Funeral Home and Celebration of Life Center, Fargo.

I am deeply saddened by the loss of Aunt Dorothy. She was one of the kindest, gentlest souls I have known. I have fond memories of being with my dad (Earl) when he helped them install the electrical system in their new farmhouse. I loved the family reunions at the farm and getting fresh cream. The memories are many and Dorothy was always there with a gentle smile. I loved getting to know her even more in the later years after her move to Fargo. The things she shared about growing up with my dad will be treasured memories. I will miss her and her caring soul.

As I sit here at the kitchen table thinking about your mom and your dad so many memories come to mind. The years of floods that they were always there. Checking pumps with Ray and our midnight talks, champagne corks in the Fargo VFW light fixture. The conversations around yours and DiDIs kitchen table my god if that table could talk. Your mom would always bring homemade buns and we’d fight over who got the last one. Seems to me you always did and hid a couple on the side just in case.
Your mom was one of the nicest people I have ever met and as years passed one of the kindest and a lasting friendship was born. Always a hug and genuine caring of how things were in my life. Pretty good sense of humor pretty quiet along the way but she could get em in and laugh at herself. She will be missed by all who knew her. Love you always my friend
