Dorothy Nelson

Dorothy passed away on Thursday, March 10, 2011 at her home in Hillsboro under the loving care of her family and Hospice of the Red River Valley.

Dorothy Kamphaug was born on December 5, 1928, the daughter of Ole and Agnes (Monson) Kamphaug, near Hatton, ND. She grew up in this area and received her education. Dorothy was united in marriage to Nennor Nelson on April 5, 1952. Together they farmed for 28 years in the Cummings, ND area. In 1974 they bought the Coast to Coast Store in Hillsboro, later changing the name to Trustworthy Hardware. They retired in 1992. Dorothy was a long time member of Norway Lutheran Church. Nennor passed away on April 7, 2003.

Dorothy is survived her daughters, Diane (Gary) Weber of Ogema, MN; Sherry Renner of Fargo; her sons, Richard Nelson of Bowman, ND; and Jim Nelson of Chaska, MN; her ten grandchildren and six great grandchildren; her sisters-in-law, Cecelia "Nippy" Nelson of Hillsboro; and Nancy Nelson of Cummings. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Nennor; her son, Michael; her siblings and a great grandson.
