Douglas A. Cossette, 64, Little Cormorant Lake, Audubon, MN died July 4, 2011 at his home.

Douglas was born November 27, 1946 in Moorhead, MN to Saul and Donna Cossette.  Doug was raised in Fargo and attended St. Anthony's grade school and Shanley High School.  After graduation he served in the U.S. Navy.  Upon his discharge, Doug attended and graduated from NDSU, continued with graduate studies at Moorhead State and continued with his studies in Denver, CO.  He obtained INS, AIC and CPCU designations.

Throughout his career Doug was employed by GAB Business Services, Great Plains Claims (owner and founder), EMC Insurance Co and Auto Owners Insurance.  He was employed as an insurance adjuster, supervisor, and claims manager.  In addition he was employed as a legal administrator to a law firm in Denver.

Doug married Roxann Ramberg on November 24, 1990 at St. Anthony's in Fargo.

Doug enjoyed working with wood and building things; also he loved the game of golf, although he did admit he wasn't very good at either.  He also enjoyed cleaning and waxing his Corvettes-he did make those white plastic cars shine.  He enjoyed life, loved his family, cherished his friends, and knew how to surround us all with laughter.

Doug is survived his best friend and wife, Roxann; sons, Jared (Meredith) Dunn, Eric Cossette, and Cole Cossette; 2 grandchildren, Avery and Brady Dunn; sister, Sharon (Tom) Fowler; several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Paul.

Doug would like to be remembered as a loving husband, father, and good friend.

  4. Richmond TexasMy deepest sympathy to the family for a life that’s gone to soon. May your hearts find comfort in knowing that soon,
“death will be no more” -Revelation 21:3, 4 and we will see our dear loved ones again here on earth – John 5:28, 29 and Psalms 37:29. Jehovah God makes this hope possible because – “He recom-mends his own love to us, while we were yet sinners, his son Jesus Christ died for us” -Romans 5:8.

  5. Osage MN
Doug was a great friend of soccer. He loved to cheer on Cole as he watched him play. His excitement at the field was contagious. It was great to watch him enjoy the game. I also remember fondly spending time with the family under your canopy at a Fargo Tournament. His hospitality was special. So often when I, Kathy, watch soccer games , I will sit next to people but Doug wouldn’t have it and demanded I share their space and company. I will always remember that day. Thanks Doug. Our Love to you, Cole , and Roxanne. We were lucky to know him.
Kathy, Dave. Jon, Chris, and Sarah Carter

  6. May the Cossette family find comfort in in your loving memories, and in knowing that God is “near to those that are broken at heart and those who are crushed in spirit he saves.” (Psalm 3418) He has promised to soon “swallow up death forever…and wipe the tears from all faces.” (Isaiah 258) With deepest sympathy,

I was glad we could have a nice visit together at our class reunion 2 years ago. Farewell buddy, you left us way too soon.
