Duane R. Luptak, 64 of Horace, died Monday, May 12, 2008 at his home.
Duane was born on April 12, 1944 in Dickinson, ND to Charles and Gladys (Johnson) Luptak. He graduated from Central High School in Fargo in 1962 and attended NDSCS in Wahpeton. He served in the US Air Force for 20 years. He also worked for Northern Improvement and was a welder for Burlington-Northern Railroad, retiring in 1994. Duane married Janet Lambert on August 31, 1991 in Horace. He enjoyed spending time with his family, gardening, cooking, the outdoors, watching and playing hockey, collecting wolf figurines, was an avid Green Bay Packer fan and had a great love for cats. Duane loved western North Dakota, which was reflected in his d?cor and gardening.
He was preceded in death by his father, Charles.
Duane is survived by his wife, Janet of Horace; children, Jennifer (Eric Glassmaker) Luptak of Fargo, Jessica (Chad) Reier of Fargo, Traci (Tom) Vierzba of Monument, CO, Troy Thomas of Burnsville, MN, Cindi (Bret) Carter of Flagstaff, AZ, Jeff (Tracy) Lambert of Las Vegas, NV; 9 grandchildren; his mother, Gladys Luptak of Fargo; brother, Alan Luptak of Fargo; nephew, David Luptak of West Fargo and niece, Amy Cossette of Horace.
Visitation: Thursday, May 15 from 5-7 pm at Boulger Funeral Home, Fargo
and one hour prior to the service at the church on Friday.
Prayer Service: Thursday at 7:00 pm at the funeral home.
Funeral Service: Friday, May 16 at 11:00 am at Horace Lutheran Church, Horace.
Interment: Horace Cemetery, Horace.
