Ed Halloway, 63, Fargo, ND passed away on Tuesday, November 8, 2016 at Sanford Health in Fargo. Ed (Edgar) was born on March 31, 1953 in Pittsburgh, PA, the son of Edgar and Lillian (Geiger) Halloway. Ed’s father was in the Army and the family moved around as he was transferred to different bases. They lived in Kentucky before moving to Germany where they lived from 1960-1962. From 1962-1964 they lived in the US and then returned to Germany from 1964-1966. Ed graduated from Fort Knox High School in Kentucky in 1971. Following graduation, he enlisted in the Air Force in Minot, ND and served until 1974. After being honorably discharged, Ed remained in the Dakotas where he held various jobs in the farming and healthcare industries. On January 24, 2002 Ed married Brenda Hofsommer. The couple established their home in North Fargo. He was employed as a CNA at Moorhead Healthcare, now Golden Living Center, for more than 20 years. Fishing was one of Ed’s favorite pastimes. He was a fan of the Kentucky Wildcats basketball team, and the Buccaneers football team. Ed was known for his laugh and telling jokes. He loved to have fun with many friends and family and loved to eat. Ed was loved by many and will be greatly missed. He is survived by his wife, Brenda; stepson, Elliott Nelson; siblings, Kathy (Tom) Porter, Watumpka, AL; Marsha Berwald, Mesa, AZ; Marlene (Tony) Fackler, Vine Grove, KY; and Mike (Dovie) Halloway, Anniston, AL; many other family and friends; and his best friend--his dog, Louie. He was preceded in death by his parents; and his grandparents. I love you Halloway! Thank you for being a wonderful husband and best friend. There will be a memorial service at 2:00 PM on Saturday, November 19, 2016 at Boulger Funeral Home and Celebration of Life Center, Fargo.

  7. Brenda…my thoughts and prayers are with you and Ed’s Family! I truly thought the world of Ed! I loved the way he respected our Residents and treated them with love and compassion. Heaven is lucky to have him, just as I was blessed by knowing him!!!

  8. So sorry to hear that Ed has passed. Prayers for the family. I worked at St. Francis Home in Breckinridge with Ed. We always had so much fun together. Such a happy go lucky person,, he was. He sure will be missed by many.

  12. My dear Brenda I’m so sorry to hear about my life long friend Ed, like Dan would always say when I missed his visit, your buddy Ed was here today! They got to be friends, and Dan was even his best man at your wedding. When Ed introduced you to us we both knew it was meant to be. Oh how my heart aches for you.
