Edith Stewart passed away on Wednesday, July 20, 2005, at the Hillsboro Medical Center Nursing Home at the age of 79.
Edith was born on July 25, 1925, in Hillsboro, the daughter of Oscar and Esther (Peterson) Anderson. She grew up in this area and graduated from Hillsboro High School in 1944. After her schooling, she began working at the Hillsboro Creamery. Edith was united in marriage to Louis Stewart on August 8, 1948, in Moorhead, MN. They made their home in Northwood, ND, prior to moving to Hillsboro shortly after their marriage. Edith entered the Hillsboro Nursing Home in 1998, where she has lived since that time. Edith was an active member of the Hillsboro United Parish, loved spending time at the lakes and crocheting, and volunteering when needed.
Edith is survived by her sister in law, Yvonne Anderson of Hillsboro; brothers in law, Harold Meyer, Lloyd Weber and Rueben Weber; her nieces and nephews, Karen, Sharon, Kathy, Keith, Dawn, Jeff, Bob, Terry, Kevin, and Jenny; 22 great nieces and nephews; and several cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Louis in 1998; her brother, Donald; and her great nephew, Ross.
VISITATION: 4-7 PM Friday at Wildeman Funeral Home in Hillsboro – and also one hour prior to the funeral in the church on Saturday
FUNERAL: 10 AM Saturday at the Hillsboro United Parish UCC-UMC
BURIAL: Riverside Cemetery in Hillsboro
