  1. Spokane WashingtonDear Joe, sibs and extended family –Your mom treated me with kindness, sweetness and dignity through all of the time when I was growing up from toddler across the street forward. Those tuna salad sandwiches on the bus on Friday nights saved my life. I share your grief and celebrate her life, generously and well-lived. Tom Wolf

  2. San Diego CAMy sympathy to all of you and the family.
Despite the sadness, you all should be very proud, and I am sure you are, of your parents accomplishments.
I miss the rare opportunity of hunting with your Dad and the smiles I recall on Elaine’s gentle face.
    What a great family!

Elaine + Sid were very special people in my life. I first met them in 1963 when I was hired at ND
SU. I had the opportunity of having three sons play for the Bison and the other children work with the athletic programs. WSid always invited me to sit with the Shanley teams when I was at their games. I appreciate all the events and doings I was involved with at Shanley. Elaine was a special person I would get to see at Holy Spirit Masses. We would talk about Shanley, ND
SU and our children and specally sid in his last days. I can say that Sid + Elaine were true friends and I will miss them greatly. God bless them, Izzy

  4. Fargo 58102The LaBore family wishes to convey our sincere condolences. Your Mother was a very special lady. We have always marveled at her ability to care for her large famiy and her being such a tiny woman. Our four older daughters, Mary, Susan, Christine and Rene want to let you know that you are being thought of and are held in high regard.

A legendary couple has left us. Sid and Elaine were that couple.

    God bless Henry LaBore

    To Joe and the family,
It is very hard for us, no matter how old we are, to lose our parents. Although I did not know your mother very well, I realized how dedicated she was to Sid. I saw her several times when visiting Sid and she always remembered the fishing trips to Canada at Barney’s Ball Lake Lodge. There is no doubt in my mind that she knew all of our family’s when we played for Sid.
Our condolences to you and your family, Jim and Mary Ann

I remember your Dad always smiling at me at Shanley. We had fun in class and on the football field. He knew I was a “stinker” and he liked that!
Your Mom would always give me an extra portion at lunch and would give me a “wink” as I passed down the lunch line.
I have the greatest admiration for both
of your parents.I’m blessed to have known them.

Elaine was a great lady. When my parents were battling illnesses that led to their deaths, Elaine came to see them regularly with heartfelt concern. I will always remember her delicious chocolate chip cookies that were a ray of light to those heavy days. She was a woman to be admired and emulated, a true woman of character and compassion. She made a difference and she will be missed
