Elizabeth "Betty" J. Speltz Anderson, age 80 of Fargo, formerly of Black River Falls, Wisconsin, died Sunday, July 25, 2004 at MeritCare Hospital in Fargo, ND. Elizabeth Bahnub was born March 27, 1924 in West Salem, Wisconsin to John and Lydia (Schaller) Bahnub. She graduated from high school in Sparta, WI. She married James A.. Speltz in Sparta on May 19, 1944. Together they established the Speltz Studio in Black River Falls, WI which they operated from 1949 until James? death in 1969. She served as president of the Indianhead Professional Photographers Association in 1973. In 1995 the Professional Photographers of America designated her a Master Photographic Craftsman. She married Jack M. Anderson in Black River Falls on September 17, 1971. They moved to Fargo in 1986, where she was a member of Sts. Anne and Joachim Catholic Church, acted in several productions for the Fargo-Moorhead Community Theater and served as Fargo?s Mrs. Claus at Santa?s Village-Island Park from 1987-1995. She was preceded in death by her parents, sisters Adeline, Elvira, Marie, Bertha and Viola; and her first husband, James Speltz. She is survived by her husband, Jack M. Anderson; sons, Michael (Pat) Speltz, Londonderry, NH, Steven (Paula) Speltz, El Portal, CA; stepsons, Terrance (Stella) Anderson, Raytown, MO, Stephen (Kathy) Anderson, Ealgonquin, IL and Jack (Peggy) Anderson, Jr., North Branch, MN; 6 grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren. Memorials are preferred to Sts. Anne and Joachim Parish - Elizabeth Anderson Memorial or City of Fargo Park District, Santa Village - Elizabeth Anderson Memorial.
