Elvina (Haugen) Haagenson of Hillsboro, ND, died November 24, 2004, at the Hillsboro Medical Center – Nursing Home. Elvina was born November 26, 1908, to Peter and Marie Haugen at Portland, ND. She was baptized and confirmed at Aurdal Lutheran Church in Portland. She attended Norman School in Mayville. In 1928, she married Edward Haagenson of Clifford, ND, and they farmed there until 1944, when they moved to a farm east of Hatton, ND.
Elvina was organist at Perry Lutheran Church, rural Portland, and at Bethany Lutheran Church, rural Hatton, for 25 years. Edward passed away in 1971, and Elvina moved to Hillsboro in 1982.
Elvina is survived by a son, Duane, of Hillsboro; a granddaughter, Karen Denise, and great granddaughters, Miranda Rose and Samantha Jewel, all of Sunsites, AZ. She is also survived by three brothers, Oliver Haugen and Alf (Helen) Haugen, all of Mayville; Palmer (Amy) Haugen of Fargo; and two sisters, Mildred Finstad of Grantsburg, WI, and Juneth Nelson of Fargo.
Funeral: 2 p.m. Monday in Bethany Lutheran Church near Hatton, ND.
Visitation: 2-4 p.m. Sunday in Wildeman Funeral Home, Hillsboro, and one hour prior to services in the church on Monday.
