Erle Abentroth

Erle R. Abentroth Hillsboro, North Dakota Erle R. Abentroth, age 91, passed away on Wednesday, April 22, 2009 at the Hillsboro Medical Center Nursing Home under the care of Hospice of the Red River Valley and his loving family. Erle was born on April 11, 1918, the son of Charles and Daisy (Bingham) Abentroth of rural Cummings, ND. He grew up on the family farm near Cummings and attended Bingham Country School and later Caledonia High School. After his schooling, he began farming with his family. Erle was united in marriage to Teresa McDonald on January 3, 1940. They made their home and farmed near Cummings for over 50 years before moving to Hillsboro in 1998. Teresa passed away on July 29, 2003 and Erle entered the Hillsboro Nursing Home in 2005. Erle was a life long member of the Hillsboro United Parish. He loved his family greatly and enjoyed his days on the farm, hunting, and following baseball games. Erle is survived by his children, Michael (Sallie) Abentroth of Choteau, MT, and their children, Aaron and Alissa; Kay (Duane) Preston of East Grand Forks, MN, and their children, Jeff, Teresa, and Michael; Barb (Neil) Nelson of Hillsboro, ND, and Lance, Garrett, and Natalie; Douglas (Sue) Abentroth of Caledonia, ND, and their children, Emily, Heather, Heidi, Erica, Mitchell, and Casey; David Abentroth of Climax, MN, and children, Alicia, Jayne and Donny; Greg (Vickie) Abentroth of Cummings, ND, and their children, Justin, Tiffany and Devin; Scott (Stephanie) Abentroth of Nielsville, MN, and their children, Nicholas and Vanessa; Kevin Abentroth of Cummings, ND; and Charles? children, Robbie and Sarah; and 24 great grandchildren. Erle is also survived by his brother, Ray (Lorraine) Abentroth of Hillsboro, ND; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Teresa; his sons, baby Thomas and Charles; and his brothers, Fay and Lloyd Abentroth.
