Ernest DuBord

Ernest DuBord, 83, of Fargo died Thursday, March 20, 2008 at the Palliative Care Unit of MeritCare Hospital. Ernest DuBord was born on November 30, 1924 to Arthur and Lumina (Rheault) DuBord on a farm near Horace, North Dakota where he grew up. Ernest attended St. Joseph's Academy at St. Benedict's Church, Wild Rice, North Dakota. After finishing school he joined his father in farming. Ernest DuBord and Dorothy Duval were married at St. Benedict's Church, Wild Rice, N.D. on November 14, 1944. They farmed together until their retirement in 1986 at which time they moved to Fargo. Ernest and Dorothy had a trailer on Spirit Lake near Vergas, Minnesota for 24 years. He was an avid card player, especially whist. He enjoyed restoring antique furniture. He was the sexton of the St. Benedict?s Cemetery in Wild Rice, North Dakota for many years. He is survived by his wife; Dorothy of Fargo; children, Marie (Tom) Valentine of Wales, ND, Sharon (Curt) Haakenson of Albuquerque, NM, Kathleen (Paul) Willison of Hillsboro, ND, Leo (Barb) DuBord of Horace, ND, Joanne (Michael) Lenertz of Moorhead, MN, Michael (Kathy) DuBord of Fargo, ND, Curt (Kari) DuBord of West Fargo, ND; 24 grandchildren; 34 great- grandchildren; brother, Paul DuBord of West Fargo, ND. He was preceded in death by his parents; his brothers, Pete, Dan and Donat; sister, Antoinette; and grandson Eric. In lieu of flowers the family would prefer memorials made to an organization of the donor?s choice. VISITATION: 5-7 pm Monday, March 24, 2008 in Boulger Funeral Home, Fargo.
