Ernie Swanson

Ernie ?Swanie? Swanson, age 77 of Fargo, died of natural causes on Sunday, January 7, 2007 at the Palliative Care Unit of MeritCare Hospital, Fargo. Ernie was born on March 21, 1929 in Fargo to Alfred and Jenny (Lindblom) Swanson. He graduated from Central High School in Fargo. He married Betty Clemmer on June 26, 1948 in California and they returned to Fargo shortly after their marriage. Ernie worked as a Superintendent for Jackson Construction before starting E. H. Swanson Construction in 1962. In 1978 he bought a resort on Middle Cormorant Lake, which became Swanie?s Resort. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and traveling and was a great joke-teller. He was preceded in death by his wife, Betty; his parents; his sons, Joseph and Steve; his brothers, Edward, Gordon, Raymond; his sisters, Edith, Vi, Bernice and Gloria. Ernie is survived by his children, Raleigh of Fargo, Jennifer (Tim) Cossette of West Fargo, Benita Albrecht of West Fargo, Brad (Kathy) of Fargo; 16 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren and his extended Swanie?s family. Visitation: Wednesday, January 10 from 4-7 pm at Boulger Funeral Home, Fargo and also one hour prior to the service in the church on Thursday. Prayer Service: Wednesday at 7:00 pm at the funeral home. Funeral Service: Thursday, January 11 at 2:00 pm at St. Mary?s Cathedral, Fargo. Interment: Holy Cross North Cemetery, Fargo.
