Ethel Wilde

Ethel F. Wilde, 86 of Fargo, died Sunday, December 27, 2009 at Innovis Health, Fargo. Ethel was born on April 8, 1923 near Tower City, North Dakota to Edward and Tilda “Marie” (Paulson) Hoffmeyer. She graduated from high school in Colgate, ND and then attended St. John’s School of Nursing for their 3-year degree program. She married Ernest Conyers in DeGraff, MN. She was only married approximately 2 days when she enlisted in the Army Nurse Corps, achieving the rank of 2nd Lieutenant. She was able to go Fort Bragg, NC to join her husband. They moved back to DeGraff, Minnesota where they lived two years on a farm. They moved back to Colgate where Ethel worked at the hospital in Mayville, ND. Ethel moved with her 3 children to Fargo, ND after Ernest passed away. She worked at the Veterans Hospital as a nurse for over 20 years. She married Fredrick Wilde on June 6, 1963 in South Dakota. She enjoyed ice skating and playing the accordion. She was preceded by her parents; husbands, Ernest and Fredrick; daughter, Kim; sisters, Beatrice Baasch and Joyce Brace. Ethel is survived by her children, Michael Marcus (Phyllis) Conyers of Anthem, AZ, Sandra Jo “Sandy” (Gerald) Sjolin of Pelican Rapids, MN, Steven Paul (Nancy) Conyers of Thornton, CO; Kay Elizabeth Hopper of Fargo; 9 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; sister, Karen (Leroy) Magnuson of Valley City, ND. Visitation: Wednesday, December 30 from 5-7 pm at Boulger Funeral Home, Fargo and also one hour prior the service at the church on Thursday. Prayer Service: Wednesday at 7:00 pm at the funeral home. Funeral Service: Thursday, December 31 at 10:30 am at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Fargo. Interment: Page Cemetery, Page, ND. Arrangements entrusted to Boulger Funeral Home, Fargo.
