Eva Kurtz

Eva F. Kurtz, age 97, of Fargo, died Thursday, October 22, 2009 at Eventide Lutheran Home in Moorhead, MN. Eva Frances Dauer was born on June 21, 1912 at Kent, MN. She grew up on a farm near McCaullyville, MN. Eva attended school at Galchutt, ND. She married Louis M. Kurtz on December 4, 1936 in Minneapolis, MN. The couple lived in Fargo; Billings, MT; and Minneapolis, MN. In 1947, they moved to Barney, ND where they resided until they moved to Breckenridge, MN in 1958. In 1967, the couple moved to Fargo. In later years Louis and Eva enjoyed their home at Riverview Place. Louis died in 1996. For the past eight years, Eva has made Eventide her home. Eva worked as a housekeeper and a cook in her younger years and in later life as a cook at the Queen of Peace Retreat in Fargo. She was a devoted wife and mother. Eva died peacefully surrounded by her family. Eva is survived by two daughters, Jeanette M. Breuer of Mooreton, ND; Evonne M.(Donald) Barnum of Moorhead; a son, Eugene L. Kurtz of Fargo; 11 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren 10 great-great grandchildren. Eva was preceded in death by her husband, her parents and her 12 siblings. Visitation: One hour before the funeral at 9:30 a.m. at the church. Funeral Mass: 10:30 AM Tuesday, October 27, 2009 at St Joseph’s Catholic Church in Moorhead.
