Evelyn Herrick

Evelyn J. Herrick, 96, died Thursday, February 08, 2007 in her home under the care of Hospice of the Red River Valley. Evelyn Joan Newman was born October 10, 1910, in Akeley, MN. She moved to Fargo as a young child where she graduated from Sacred Heart Academy in 1927. She graduated from Interstate Business College and worked briefly for Sam Chesley Lumber Company. On April 9, 1932 she married Edwin Kipp Herrick in Minneapolis. They lived in Aberdeen, SD, Minneapolis, and Harvey, ND before moving to Fargo in 1949. They made their home here until they retired to Pelican Lake and Sun City, AZ. in 1964. Following her husband's death in 1982, she returned to Fargo. She has lived at Waterford at Harwood Groves since 2000. She is survived by one daughter, Mary (Donovon) Nelson, Fargo; four grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, two great-great granddaughters, and several nieces and nephews. Funeral: Saturday, February 10, 2007 at 1 p.m. in St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church, with a reception following at Waterford at Harwood Groves. Burial: Riverside Mausoleum, Fargo.
