Florence Louise Anstett, age 90, of Fargo, ND, died on Tuesday, April 21, 2009 at MeritCare, Palliative Care, Fargo, ND surrounded by her family. Florence was born on October 3, 1918 to Jacob and Winifred (Reardon) Goll. She grew up in Danzig and Ashley, ND and graduated from high school in Ashley. She attended the University of North Dakota, Grand Forks, ND. Florence married Hugh V. Anstett on September 13, 1941 at St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Grand Forks. In 1942, the couple moved to Fargo, ND where they raised their family. She served as a lay Eucharistic Minister at MeritCare Hospital, was a long-time member of the Orestes Brownson Study Club and the Fine Arts Club. She was a volunteer for her children’s school activities at St. Anthony’s, St. Mary’s, Shanley, and NDSU. She was also a 4-H Leader and Campfire Leader. Summers were spent at Lake Melissa in the cottage which has been in the family since 1933. Florence was an avid reader and she loved to play Bridge and travel with family to visit family. She has been a resident of the RiverView Place community since January of 2008. She is survived by her children: Carol (Ray) Barnhardt, Fairbanks, AK, Paul (Marilyn) Anstett, Fargo, ND, Jean (John) Sherman, Colorado Springs, CO, Mary Kay (John) Strangfeld, Bernardsville, NJ, Peggy (Glenn) Berger, Littleton, MA; 15 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Hugh; and sister, Jeannette Zimmerman. Memorials are preferred to RiverView Place or Presentation Sisters Foundation. The Funeral will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, April 24, 2009 at RiverView Place, Fargo, ND. Visitation will be held from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 23, 2009 at Boulger Funeral Home, Fargo, ND with a Prayer Service at 7:00 p.m. Arrangements entrusted to Boulger Funeral Home, Fargo, ND.
