Florence Duchscher

florence duchscher
Florence Agnes (Peters) Duchscher, 90, died Saturday, October 12, 2019, at her home in River Pointe of Moorhead. Florence was born July 24, 1929, to Joseph and Eva (Goetz) Peters in Rugby, ND. After graduating from Fillmore, ND high school, she attended Minot State Teachers College. She taught school for two years before working for Otter Tail Power Company in Rugby. She married Herman Duchscher on August 6, 1951. Herman was stationed at McClellan Air Force base in Sacramento where they made their first home. After his discharge, they moved to Fargo where they raised their two daughters. Florence worked for Western States Life Insurance and the Veteran’s Administration in Fargo, retiring in 1994. Florence loved spending time with her family whether at home or at the lake. She took care of her grandchildren every chance she could and attended the events they participated in. She enjoyed any theatre production, the symphony, Town Hall events and travelling with her sisters and brother-in-law. Faith was important to Florence and Herman and they saw to it that their daughters and grandchildren all received a Catholic education. Florence is survived by her daughters: Nancy (Tom) Kasper, Fargo and Renae Ham, Desert Hot Springs, CA; grandchildren, Michael, David, and Daniel Kasper, Samantha (Scott) Haluptzok, Austin Laske, Sara (Mike Brownson) Laske, Katie Ham; great-granddaughter Nellie Brownson, and baby Haluptzok due March 2020. She is also survived by her sisters: Marion Selid, Edina, MN, Lucille Jundt, Denver, CO, Sally (Don) Voeller, Fargo, ND and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Herman and her parents. Visitation will be from 6-7 p.m. with a prayer service at 7 p.m., Wednesday, Oct. 16, at Boulger Funeral Home in Fargo. Visitation will continue from 9-10 a.m., followed by the funeral Mass at 10 a.m., Thursday, Oct. 17, at Holy Spirit Catholic Church in Fargo. Memorials can be made to the Father John P Smith Foundation Fund, c/o Holy Spirit Church. We would like to thank the staff at River Pointe of Moorhead for all the fun, love and wonderful care they gave mom over the last 4 ½ years. She really loved living there.

  1. So very sorry to read about your mom Renae. I remember her as a very nice and kind lady. God Bless her memory.

  2. May you find peace in the memories, Grace from God and love from your friends. Hugs and love from Kerry and I.

  3. That was a wonderful video and so much joy in those pictures. Being a son of one of those 4 Peters’ girls i can say, God has blessed our families and i’m forever grateful to be a cousin to my cousins, a nephew to my uncles and aunts, and a grandchild to Joe & Eva. Love to each of you!

  4. Beautifal memorial video. Renae, just remember those who we have loved and lost are no longer where they were before, they are now wherever we are.
