Florence Shanley

Florence (Boroszuk) Shanley of Fargo passed away January 26th at the age of 96 in Billings MT.
Born July 17, 1921 in Fire Steel, SD, she was the third child of Mary (Fischong) and Dominic Boroszuk. Florence was raised in LaMoure ND and moved for a short time to Galesburg IL where she met Maxon (Pinky) Shanley. They married on January 15, 1944 and moved to Fargo shortly thereafter.
Florence was a homemaker and worked at NDSU in environmental services. While Florence and Pinky did not have children of their own, they raised 3 of Pinky’s nephews and mentored many others with their joy, love and kindness. Florence was an amazing, witty spitfire and would warn you “Don’t get my Polish up” if you need a reminder on manners. Her joy and laughter was contagious and we will never forget the sparkle of her beautiful blue eyes.
Florence is preceded in death by her husband, parents, siblings Josephine Stainbrook, Eva Boroszuk, Pauline Johnson, Lucille Ward, and Theodore Boroszuk. She is survived by her brother Ernest Boroszuk of Billings and numerous cousins, nephews, nieces and friends.
Florence had a great spiritual being and love of the Lord and we find comfort knowing that she is in the love and care of the Lord along with her long-missed family.
Visitation – one hour prior to the funeral in the church
Funeral Mass – 2 PM Friday, February 2, 2018 at Holy Spirit Catholic Church in Fargo
