Frances Fjeld

Frances H. (Sullivan) Fjeld, 95, Fargo passed away Sunday, June 3, 2018 at Villa Maria, Fargo.
Frances DeMars was born on December 3, 1922 at Bathgate, North Dakota. She grew up and attended school there. She married Joseph Sullivan on July 17, 1945 in Neche, North Dakota. They came to Fargo after their marriage and lived here for a time before moving to Grand Forks and then Minneapolis. They returned to Fargo in 1960. He died in 1967.
Frances worked at Hornbacher’s for 7 years before beginning work at St. Luke’s Hospital in 1975. She retired at the age of 70. Frances married Jerome Fjeld at St. Mary’s Cathedral on June 9, 1979. Jerome passed away February 16, 2017.
She is survived by her children, Claudia (Jerome) Lima, Fargo, ND, Michelle (Robin) Herb, Laveen, AZ, Patricia (Randy Asselin) Sullivan, Fargo, ND; 6 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husbands; sister, Beatrice O’Hara, brother, Everett DeMars and grandson, Christopher Knapp.

Pat, Claudia & Michelle. Thank you for calling and letting us know. Your Mom was such a delight to talk with. I loved her laugh and sense of humor. She was kind to share stories with me and listen to mine. Frances always brightened my day when I saw her. I will miss her.
Francis was a delightful addition to our family when she married my Uncle Jerome. We always appreciated the loving way she cared for him, especially his last few months. She will be missed and remembered.
