So sorry to hear of Fred’s passing. Haven’t really had contact with Fred since high school, but do have fond memories of the ‘Elliott years’ visiting the Shultz grocery store operated by Mike and Vera. We extend our sincere sympathies to Flora and all of Fred’s family.

We were stunned to hear of Fred’s passing. I know it’s been a while since we’ve seen you. Missed a few retirement banquets, but I’ll always remember Saturday mornings at Chubs for chili and beer. You and Aaron and the rest of your family are in our thoughts.
Our deepest sympathies, my dear friend.

LeeAnn, We are sorry to hear of your loss. We always enjoyed Fred’s company and humor. Fred was always that pillar of strength that could be counted on without regard to the situation. He was the personification of those traits that bring nobility to his chosen profession. We will miss him a lot. Bruce and Judy

I will never forget the day Fred came to see me at KXJB with a few of his fellow fire fighters. After introductions, he told me they helped save my life back in 1990, when I was in a nasty car accident. I was speechless… and very touched by the jesture! He was always very kind to me.
Flora – sending you a big hug! LeeAnn, Flora, Duane… all of you – sending my prayers.

I met Fred during our freshman year in high school and hunted with him in the following years of high school. I was best man for him when he got married to Loretta. Our lives went different directions after high school but I always considered him a good friend. Many times as I was headed home late at night and passed Hickson on the interstate, I looked over and thought of Fred. Maybe something was telling me to go have a beer with him, but I never did and for that I am very sorry. Fred was a great guy with a winning personality. I sent an email to our high school classmates and have had several responses.

LeeAnn, I was sorry to hear of Fred’s passing. Even though we lost touch after he retired, there were many good memories of the times we had at the Department. His smile alone was all Fred’s. I know he will be missed.
