Frederick L. Larson, age 74, 2201 23rd Avenue S., Fargo, died Tuesday, February 3, 2004, in his home under the care of Hospice. Frederick L. Larson was born to Karl Frederick and Bertha Mildred (Baker) Larson on August 11, 1929, on a farm in Steele County, near Hope, ND. He grew up and attended school in Luverne, ND. Fred worked on area farms. He enlisted in the Marine Corps on July 8, 1948, and was stationed in San Francisco, CA. He served in the Korean War, and was discharged in 1952. Fred was wounded in action and received the Purple Heart. He married Genevieve Burrows on December 31, 1949, in San Francisco. They moved to Sheyenne, ND, where Frederick worked construction as a truck driver for eight years. In 1960, they moved to Fargo. He drove tankers for Dan Duggan and later Matson Tire for two years, and then worked at Firestone Retread Shop. He began working for Fargo Tire in 1955, and remained there until his retirement in 1991. Fred is a member of the Fargo VFW, Marine Corps Roughrider Detachment #435 and Dog Company Second Battalion 5th Marine Corps. He is survived by his sons, Donald (Shelly), Barron, WI, Dale (Kim), Fargo, Joseph, Fargo, Mark (Denise), Dilworth, MN, and William, Minneapolis, MN; daughter, Darcy (Dan) Tolbert, Breckenridge, MN; daughters-in-law, Linda Larson, Moorhead, MN, and Jill Larson, Crookston, MN; 13 grandchildren; and one great grandson. He is also survived by three sisters, Corabelle Strelau, Fargo, Althea Ihry, Hope, and Coyla Kunze, Valley City, ND; and one brother, Mike (Susan), Scottsdale, AZ. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Genevieve; son, Frederick; sister, Ramona Fugelstad; and brother, Austin. Funeral: Friday at 2 p.m. in St. John?s Lutheran Church, Fargo Visitation: Thursday from 5-7 p.m. in Boulger Funeral Home, Fargo, and Friday at the church one hour prior to services.
