George Conrad Griesbach, 82, formerly of Hunter, ND passed away on Wednesday, May 7, 2008 at the North Dakota Veteran?s Home, Lisbon, ND.
George was born October 22, 1925 on the family farm in Bohnsack Township, Traill County, ND to Conrad and Clara (Fleischer) Griesbach. He grew up in the Hunter area and attended the Bohnsack school. He was baptized and confirmed in Grace Lutheran Church, Grandin, ND. He farmed with his father until he was drafted into the U. S. Army and spent time in Europe during WWII. He returned home and farmed until retirement. He then moved to Hunter where he resided until entering the North Dakota Veteran?s Home in Lisbon, ND in January 2006.
George is survived by brothers: Lloyd ?Bill? Griesbach, Arthur, ND, Kenneth (Marilyn) Griesbach, West Fargo, ND and sisters: Esther (Donald) Kellerman, West Fargo, Leona (David) Boisjolie, Fargo, and Lorna (Douglas) Lawyer, Grand Junction, CO; and many cousins, nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Verner, Harold, and Robert ?Bob? Griesbach and sister, Erna Borud.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to Grace Lutheran Church, Grandin, ND.
The Memorial Service for George will be at 2:00 pm on Monday, May 12, 2008 with Visitation one hour prior to the service at Boulger Funeral Home, Fargo, ND.
Burial will be at the Hunter Cemetery.
