Gerhardt Busche

Gerhardt Busche 81, Detroit Lakes, formerly of Dilworth, Minnesota. Passed away Tuesday, September 2, 2008 in Detroit Lakes, Minnesota. Gerhardt was born on the family farm near Litchville on February 24, 1927 to Louis and Amanda (Wagner) Busche. He grew up and attended school in that area. Gerhardt Busche married Verna May Eggert in Detroit Lakes, MN on July 19, 1948. They lived in Dumont, MN until 1955 when they moved to Fargo. Gerhardt worked for Armour and Company in West Fargo for 13 years. In 1966 they bought a farm near Detroit Lakes where they farmed and raised cattle for 7 years. They then lived in Las Vegas and California before returning to Minnesota where they made their home on Lake 6. They moved to Dilworth where they lived for seven years. Verna passed away in 2006. Gerhardt has been living in Detroit Lakes, MN since that time. He is survived by his children, Sandra Smith, Lincoln, MN, Danny Busche, Detroit Lakes, MN, Diane (Warren) Woytassek, Detroit Lakes, MN, Steven (Mindy) Busche, Fargo, ND; 17 grandchildren; 22 great grandchildren, 1 brother, Ben, Litchville, ND, and 1 sister, Lillie Vanderbusche, Litchville, ND He was preceded in death by his wife, Verna, son, Larry, and a great grandchild.
