Gilbert J. Stout, 86, Fargo passed away peacefully on August 19, 2013 at Bethany Retirement Living, Fargo where he was receiving rehabilitation.
Gil was born April 19, 1927 in Fargo, North Dakota to Gilbert James Stout and Hazel Tomina Rapp. He graduated from Central High School in 1945 and went on to serve in the United States Army from 1945-1947. After his honorable discharge, he graduated from the American Institute of the Air in Minneapolis. He was a radio announcer for WCAZ radio in Carthage, IL, KFGO in Fargo, ND, and KNOX in Grand Forks, ND.
In 1955, he started with N.S.P. Co. selling appliances. In 1969 he and Garman Sampson founded Homemakers Villa. He worked there until retiring in 1992.
On May 22, 1949, Gil married Arlene (Pat) Green in Carthage, IL. Arlene passed away on December 21, 2000. On March 29, 2009 Gil married Phyllis Green in Wataga, IL.
Gil was an avid sports fan. He loved the St. Louis Cardinals all of his life. His favorite football teams were the NDSU Bison and MN Vikings. A lover of music, he had a huge collection of Dixie Land Jazz.
He is survived by his wife Phyllis, Fargo; children, Susan (Robert) Parkos, Fargo, ND, Michael (Kathy) Henry, Woodhull, IL, Susie Peterson, Woodhull, IL, Kathy (Joe) Cypert, Oswego, IL and Duane (Tonya) Henry, Woodhull, IL, 11 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren and his beloved dog, JAG.
