Gladys Geyer
Gladys (Wittmayer) Geyer was born November 6, 1933 at Eureka, SD to Emanuel and Thusanelda (Kludt) Weisenburger. Gladys attended rural school in Greenway, SD.
Gladys was united in marriage to Harold Wittmayer on May 11, 1952. Three sons were born to this union: Harold Gust (Cora); West Fargo, ND; Kevin Jay (Diane); Fredonia, ND; and Timothy James, Winner, SD.
Gladys is survived by her brother, Lloyd Weisenburger and sister, Louise Dockter, Ahley, ND. She has four stepchildren: Meri (Marv) Weiler, Fargo ND; Doris (Gary) Fritz, Fargo ND; Cathy Singleton, Moorhead MN; and David Geyer, Enderlin, ND. Three grandchildren: Jodi Kraft, Chris Stallman, and Andrea Werth. She has seven great-grandchildren: Dylan Kraft; Abigayle, Adam and Nolan Werth; Riley, Avery, and Kayce Stallman; 11 step-grandchildren and 11 step-great grandchildren; two God-children, Cara Tangen and Jodi Weisenburger and many special nieces and nephews.
Harold and Gladys owned and operated his Father’s and Grandfather’s farm located a few miles west of Fredonia. They were actively engaged in dairy and diversified farming. Gladys worked at the Wishek Nursing home for 11 years. In 1991 Harold and Gladys moved to Wishek.
Harold Wittmayer, Sr. passed away in 1997.
In 1998 Gladys moved to West Fargo and worked for Meritcare Home Health.
On December 8, 2000, Gladys married Elmer Geyer. They lived in Leonard, ND and spent the winter months in Apache Junction, AZ. Elmer passed away in 2009.
Gladys passed away at the Villa Maria Nursing Home, Fargo, ND on December 23, 2015.
Gladys was preceded in death by her parents, husband Harold Wittmayer Sr. and Elmer Geyer, brothers, Nathaniel, Eugene and Ted, sisters, Ruth, Lillian, and Leona.
Gladys will always be remembered as a hardworking and a loving person. She was an excellent Grandmother to her grandchildren and loved to spend time with them. She enjoyed gardening, dancing, playing cards and always the first one to lend a helping hand when needed. She loved little children and spent many hours babysitting for family and friends. Gladys will forever be missed by all her family and friends.
Funeral Services will be at 11:00am Wednesday, December 30, 2015 with visitation from 10:00 am to 11:00 am at Martin Luther Lutheran church in Fredonia, ND. Burial will be at the Congregational Cemetery, Kulm, ND.

So very sorry to hear of Gladys’ passing. She was the most wonderful woman giving of herself for anyone. She is a treasure to anyone who knew her. She was loving, giving, kind and the most hard working woman I’ve known. She was very special in our lives and will be missed. May you rest in peace Gladys. We love you.
So sorry to hear about our dear family friend! She was a gem to all of us and the memories of her will forever live! When I told my Mother, Leona Schlenz she had such sadness in her eyes and said she was such a dear and one of my best friends! I am so glad I was able to take my Mom along with my sister to go see Gladys a year ago on Thsnksgiving. It brought such joy to us to hear them talk about old times. When we left they hugged each other and told each other that they loved each other. How special of a friendship! Prayers to the whole family!
