Gordon Hanson

Gordon O. Hanson, 79, West Fargo, passed away Wednesday, February 6, 2008 at Palliative Care, Meritcare Hospital in Fargo. Gordon O. Hanson was born to John and Josephine (Hendrickson) Hanson in Fargo on September 22, 1928. He grew up in Fargo and attended schools here. He worked for Knight Printing until 1951 when he entered the U. S. Army in which he served until 1953. Gordy O. returned to Fargo and worked for Knight Printing for 20 years, then at Union Storage/Allied Van Lines for 22 years until his retirement in 1990. Gordy O. Hanson married Betty Jean Smith in Dilworth, Minnesota on September 8, 1962. They lived in Fargo after their marriage until two years ago when they moved to West Fargo. Gordon was active in the Fargo Eagles and was past president from 1973-1974. He was an avid bowler, received many awards and retired with a 173 average. Gordon loved sports, played 3rd base and pitcher in fast pitch softball and enjoyed watching wrestling. He was a member of the Fargo American Legion for 55 years.
