Grace Madeline (Campbell) Edstrom, age 98, died Monday, May 18 at Bethany Homes in Fargo. The funeral will be held Saturday 10:30 am in Sts Anne & Joachim Catholic Church, 5202 25th Street South, Fargo, with visitation prior to the mass from 9:30 – 10:30 am. Following the funeral mass and lunch, there will be a graveside service at the Page Cemetery (St James), Page, ND. You are also welcome to join the family on Friday at Boulger Funeral Home for visitation from 5 – 7 pm with a prayer service at 7 pm.
Grace was born at home on the family farm near Colgate, ND on April 17, 1911 to Mary Ellen and William Leo Campbell. She attended grade school and high school in the Pillsbury-Ellsburg School District. After high school she moved to Fargo to work for the Manchester Biscuit Company. Grace enjoyed several employment opportunities in Fargo, and for the last twenty-five years of her working career she was employed at the Quality Bakery. She married Oscar W. Edstrom on August 17, 1943. Oscar died in 1988.
Grace and Oscar spent many happy summers at their lake cottage on Lake Trowbridge entertaining family and friends.
Grace is survived by several nieces and nephews who were an important part of her life.
The family is extremely grateful to the caregivers and staff of Bethany Homes and Hospice of the Red River Valley for their loving care during the last several months of Grace’s life.
In lieu of flowers, memorials to Hospice of the Red River Valley or Bethany Homes Memory Unit are preferred.
