Grace Plath, 65, of Davenport, ND, died Friday, December 18, 2009, after a long battle at MeritCare Hospital, Fargo, ND. Grace Ann Reger was born June 25, 1944, in Fargo, the daughter of R. F. “Riney” and Alberta (Umsted) Reger. She grew up in Fargo and completed elementary school at St. Anthony’s, graduating from Shanley High School in 1962. She graduated from North Dakota State University in 1966 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Child Development. She then became a Social Worker at Forman, ND. On July 29, 1967, she was married to Ronald Plath at St. Anthony’s Church in Fargo, ND. After almost a year in Dickinson, ND, they returned to work the family farm in rural Davenport. Grace was an amazingly caring person. Throughout all her health struggles, she never let any of her physical limitations slow her down. The strength, spirit and undaunted faith she possessed will continue to be a lasting inspiration to us all. She is survived by her husband, Ronald; one daughter, Catherine (Eric) Lee, Las Vegas, NV, and one grandson, Dexter; one son, Brandon Plath, Portland, OR; her mother-in-law, Agnes Plath Hjort, Fargo, ND; her brother-in-law, Frank Hodgman, Claremont, MN; and a number of nieces and nephews including nephew, Matthew (Ashley) Hodgman, Owatonna, MN. She was preceded in death by her father Riney in 1985; her mother, Alberta in 2003; and her sister, Rayma Hodgman in 1986. The funeral for Grace will be Monday, December 21, 2009 at 11:00am at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church in Fargo, ND. The prayer service will be Sunday, December 20, 2009 at 5:00 p.m. with a visitation from 3:00-5:00 p.m. at Fredrikson Funeral Chapel, Kindred, ND. Burial will be at the Page Cemetery, Page, ND.
