Harold "Dutch" German
May 21, 1932 ~ January 19, 2011
Harold "Dutch" German was born to Burt and Dorothy (Law) German on May 21, 1932 in Sisseton, SD. He joined the Army in 1950 and served three years, spending 18 months in Korea. Upon his return he worked for a short time for a local farmer in SD. He moved to Fargo, ND and started working for Great Northern Railroad. He was with the railroad as a mechanic for 36 years, retiring in 1992.
Gene was a life-time member of the Am Vets and VFW. He enjoyed restoring old vehicles.
He is survived by his children: Leslie German, Aberdeen, WA, Judy Halvorson (Bryan) Aberdeen, WA, Pam Dallas (Gary) , O'Dell, OR; four grandchildren, Jason Halvorson, Rachel Halvorson, Devin Dallas, Brooke Dallas; one brother: Allen German, Sisseton, SD; five sisters: Bernice Marquette, Cokato, SD, LaVonne Skoglund, New Effington, SD, Jeannette Snaza, Milbank, SD, Deanne Jensen, Yankton, SD, and Charlotte Fryer, Milbank, SD.
Preceded by parents; brother, Herbert, and brother Allen; and son: Larry German.

I’m sure that he would want all of us to celebrate the good life that he had. We can all be thankful that we had him in our lives and continue to remember him as the great guy that he was.
