Harold C. ?Tyne? Evert, age 81, of Fargo, passed away on July 11, 2004, in the Palliative Care Unit at MeritCare after his courageous battle with cancer. Preceded in death by his parents, Ernest and Ruth Evert, and his brothers, Ernest ?Bud? Evert and Wayne Evert. He will be dearly missed by his loving wife, Jeannette, son, Dan (Bonnie) Evert and their children, Dan, Tony and Marti Jean, son, Randy (Cindy) Evert and their sons, Avery and Alex, daughter Terry (Jim) Link and their daughter, Jerica, and daughter, Sheri (Arlen) Kurtti and their sons, Jason, Nathan and Mathew, and his sister, Carol (Bill) Anderson. Born September 28, 1922, in Page, N.D., Tyne graduated from Saint Alphonsis High School, Langdon, N.D., in 1941. After graduation, he enlisted in the United States Navy where he proudly served from 1941-1946, as a Chief Gunners Mate, earning numerous medals for outstanding service. On August 11, 1945, he married the love of his life, Jeanette Brochman, in Stillwater, MN. Upon completion of his military service, he worked for Sears for 2 years in sales, before being hired by Frank Hinton Decorating, where he worked for 2 years. In 1951, he started Tyne?s Decorating, which he successfully ran with the help of his devoted friend, Connie Newgren, until his retirement in 1988. He will always be remembered for his enormous artistic talents and creativity, his high moral and ethical standards, his quick wit, and his willingness to help anyone in need. He was a lifetime member of the Moorhead VFW, the American Legion and a 50-year member of Holy Spirit Church in Fargo. The family is grateful for the special kindness and care shown by the Hospice workers and those who cared for him in the Palliative Care Unit at MeritCare. Visitation will be held Tuesday, July 13th from 5-7 pm with a prayer service at 7:00 pm at Boulger Funeral Home. The funeral service will be held Wednesday, July 14th at 10:00 am at Church of the Holy Spirit, Fargo. Burial will be in Holy Cross Cemetery, Fargo.
