Harvey A. Ohnstad, 81 of Argusville, ND, died Thursday, November 6, 2008 at Bethany Homes in Fargo. Harvey was born to Helmer and Alice (Anderson) Ohnstad on November 5, 1927 in Fargo. After his years of education in Argusville, he started working for Great Northern Railroad when he was 17 years old. He entered the Navy and served in China for a time. He also was at the Bikini Atoll when the testing for the hydrogen bomb took place in the Republic of the Marshall Islands in the Central Pacific. When he was discharged he came home to Argusville and continued working for the railroad. He married Mildred Johanna Reisinger on June 11, 1949 at the Rectory of St. Joseph?s Catholic Church in Moorhead. He worked for the railroad for 44 years and retired in October 1989. He was a member of the Harwood American Legion, West Fargo VFW and United Congregational Church of Christ in Argusville. Harvey enjoyed gardening, lawnwork and fishing. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Norman and son, Arnold. Harvey is survived by his wife, Mildred of Argusville; children, Daniel James Ohnstad (Leena) of St. Louis Park, MN, Vernon Roy Ohnstad (Becky Lynn) of Fargo, Pamela Kay Halvorson (fianc?, Everett Anderson) of Detroit Lakes, MN; 8 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; sisters, Adeline (Jake) Hestbeck of Fargo and Sharon (Ronald) Weiman of St. Cloud, MN. Visitation: Monday, November 10 from 5-8 pm at Boulger Funeral Home, Fargo and also one hour prior to the funeral on Tuesday. Prayer Service: Monday at 7:30 pm at the funeral home. Funeral Service: Tuesday, November 11 at 1:00 pm at Boulger Funeral Home, Fargo. Interment: Riverside Cemetery, Fargo. Arrangements entrusted to Boulger Funeral Home, Fargo.
