Hazel Knoll

Hazel Knoll, 76, of Fargo, ND, died Friday, February 19, 2010 in the Palliative Care Unit of MeritCare Hospital, Fargo, ND. Hazel Rutten was born June 18, 1933 in Anamoose, ND daughter of John and Elizabeth (Bruner) Rutten. She lived in Drake, ND until the age of nine when her family moved to Wild Rice, ND. She attended school at Drake, Wild Rice, and St. Benedict’s. Hazel was employed by Red Owl before marrying Raymond Knoll, February 3, 1954. They farmed and made their home near Argusville, ND. They had five children and she was preceded in death by Raymond in 1975. She later worked as an assistant bookkeeper for Sound Pro. She moved to Fargo in 1988. She is survived by her children, Roger (Collette) Knoll, Brainerd, MN; Glen (Leslie Sjostrom) Knoll, Valley City, ND; Sandra (Steven) Manlove, Fargo, ND; Ruby (Joe Hamm) Knoll, West Fargo, ND; Wendy (Tony) Baumstarck, Rapid City, SD; five siblings, Mathilda Kinsella, Stonington, CT; Paul (Ruth) Rutten, Great Falls, MT; Emily Anderson, Marshfield, WI; William (Delores) Rutten, West Fargo, ND; Grace (Bill) Fridgen, Moorhead, MN; eight grandchildren, September (Christopher) Dehen; Jessica Knoll; Kandace Knoll; Kayleigh Sjostrom; Eric Manlove; Vanessa Manlove; Marcus Baumstarck; Dillon Baumstarck; and many nieces and nephews. She was also preceded in death by her siblings, Cornileus, Andrew, Veronica, Anton, Helen, Gladys and an infant brother. There will be a prayer service on Sunday, February 21 at 7 in Boulger Funeral Home with visitation starting at 5:00 p.m. The funeral will be on Monday, February 22 at 2:00 p.m. in St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church, Moorhead, MN.
