Hazel Nipstad

Hazel B. Nipstad, 91, Fargo, North Dakota, died Saturday, November 6, 2004 at Bethany Homes, Fargo under the care of Hospice. Hazel Nipstad was born March 30, 1913 to Helfred and Bertina (Hatlestad) Smeby in Hickson, North Dakota. She attended school in Hickson, ND. She married Wallace Nipstad on April 18, 1936. They farmed near Kindred, North Dakota until they retired in 1976 and moved to Fargo. Hazel and Wallace spent many winters in Arizona. Wallace died January 24, 1998. Hazel moved to Bethany Homes Towers II in April 2003. In April 2004 she moved to Bethany Homes Cares Unit.. Hazel loved to travel and enjoyed music, spending many hours at the piano and organ. Hazel also sang in many choirs. Hazel was a member of the Kindred Lutheran Church and was active in the Ladies? Group. Hazel is survived by one sister, Inez (Robert) Grangaard, Fargo and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, 4 brothers, and 3 sisters. The funeral for Hazel Nipstad will be Tuesday, November 9, 2004 at 11:00am at the Kindred Lutheran Church, Kindred, North Dakota. There will be visitation one hour prior to the funeral service. Burial will be at the Kindred Cemetery. Arrangements are being handled by Fredrikson Funeral Chapel, Kindred, North Dakota
