Helen passed away on June 10, 2015 at her home, Kind-er Care, in West Fargo at the age of 87.
Helen Larson was born on December 11, 1927, the daughter of Otto and Josephine (Heglie) Larson in Wahpeton, ND. She grew up in Walcott and attended school graduating from Walcott High School. Helen worked for Northwestern Bell Telephone Company in Fargo until she was united in marriage to Parnell Anderson June 17, 1949 at Walcott Lutheran Church. They made their home on the family farm near Kindred where they farmed and raised their family. Helen enjoyed being a homemaker and being active in her church. For many years she was a member of the Walcott American Legion Auxiliary. Helen loved spending time with her grandchildren playing games, especially hide the thimble.
Helen is survived by her children – Barbara (John) Dalen of Ft Myers, FL ; Stephen (Renee) Anderson of Kindred, ND; and Keith (Cheryl) Anderson of Walcott, ND; her grandchildren – Kimberly (Jeffrey) Dallin of Minneapolis, MN; Erica (Ryan) Kappes of Chicago, IL; Leslie (Chad) Oberg of Moorhead, MN; Karyn Entzion of Dallas, TX; Shari (Kurt) Boeckman of Inver Grove Heights, MN; Tyler Anderson of Kindred, ND; Ashley (Michael) Cassel of Burnsville, MN; Brady Anderson of Fargo, David Anderson and Ryan Anderson both of West Fargo, ND; and her seven great grandchildren – Stuart Oberg of Moorhead, MN; Ian Entzion of Eagan, MN; Gretchen Boeckman and Rachel Boeckman both of Inver Grove Heights, MN; Elise Cassel and Elin “Charlie” Cassel both of Burnsville, MN; and Frankie Kappes of Chicago, IL. Also surviving are her brother, Omar (Joan) Larson of California and her brother-in-law, Clayton Anderson of Fargo; and sisters-in-law, Constance Larson of Fargo; Annette Larson of Fargo; and Lorraine Anderson of Bismarck, ND; several nieces and nephews and many other very dear relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Parnell in 2007; her son Richard Wayne Anderson in 1959; and siblings – Eleanor Herndon, Percy Larson, Janice Hott, Pearl Blumer, Marybelle Anderson, and Roger Larson; and a brother who died in infancy.
