Helen C. Crary, age 86, Fargo, died Tuesday, June 15, 2004, in MeritCare Hospital, Fargo. Helen C. Curry, known as Honey, was born April 20, 1918, in Killdeer, ND, the daughter of Aaron and Agnes (Norton) Curry. She grew up in Killdeer, where the family ranched. Helen attended Convent of the Visitation in St. Paul, MN, from fourth grade through her graduation in 1936. She graduated from Rassmussen Business College in Minneapolis, MN, and then worked for Dunn & Bradstreet for two years. She was united in marriage to Vincent W. Crary on October 12, 1940, in St. Paul. They made their home in Fargo. She and Vince built Villa Maria Nursing Home in Fargo in 1970. She served as the administrator of the nursing home until 1983 when they sold the business. Mr. Crary died in 1991. Helen wintered in Arizona, and traveled extensively. She enjoyed her family. She was a charter member of Chapter AU, PEO and a member of the Junior League. She taught religious education at St. Anthony?s. She also volunteered at the Opportunity School. She is survived by five sons, Vincent W. Jr (Becky), New York Mills, MN, Peter (Michelle), Fargo, Jim (Dianna), Anchorage, Alaska, Joe (Cindy), Fargo, and David (Gretchen), St. Paul, MN; four daughters, Stella (Paul) Bridgeford, Detroit Lakes, MN, Marguerite (Clarence) Samuel, Fargo, Jane (Bob) Dvonch, Manassas, VA, and Helen (Jay) Stassen, Mendota Heights, MN; 32 grandchildren; 29 great grandchildren; and one sister, Mary Elizabeth Allender, Eugene, OR. She was preceded in death by her husband, Vince; and one brother, Aaron. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be sent to the Sisters at the Carmel of Mary, 17765 78th Street SE, Wahpeton, ND, 58075, to the Sisters of the Visitation Monastery, 2455 Visitation Drive, Mendota Heights, MN, 55120, or to Father Jack Davis, % Marlene Christenson, 3601 10th Street South, Fargo, ND, 58104. Funeral Mass will be Saturday at 12:30 p.m. in St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church, Fargo. Visitation will be in the church on Friday from 5:30-7 p.m., with a prayer service at 7 p.m. Visitation will also be in the church on Saturday one hour prior to services.
