Helen M Nagel Helen M. (Gordon) Nagel, 84, Bismarck, ND, passed away July 10, 2017, at Villa Maria Nursing Home, Fargo, ND. Her funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, July 15, 2017, at Faith United Methodist Church, Fargo, with visitation from noon to 1 p.m. Friends are invited to gather with the family for a brief internment service at Sunset Memorial Cemetery, Bismarck, 11 a.m., Monday, July 17, 2017, Helen was born February 3, 1933 in LaMoure County, ND, to Maurice and Lenore (Conitz) Gordon. Her childhood was spent in Millarton, ND. She graduated from Jamestown High School in 1950. In 1950, she married Richard Nagel of Montpelier, ND. They made their home in Bismarck, ND, where Helen worked at a Bismarck bank, Roberts Floral, Bismarck Hospital, and the ND State Capitol, but her greatest joy was raising their five children: Jerry, Marc, Pam, David, and Penny. Helen enjoyed square dancing, her bridge club, having coffee with friends, and traveling with her husband, Richard, and her children. She also loved gathering information and creating family genealogy photo albums and decorating for the holidays with her collection of Dicken’s Villages. Her favorite past time was playing cards with her husband, children, and grandchildren. She always seemed to have this magical ability to win at the end of the game. Helen was a proud member of the Mayflower Society, Dakota Zoo, and McCabe United Methodist Church. Helen is survived by three sons, Jerry Nagel, Lake Park, MN, Marc (Linda) Well Nagel, Plymouth, MN, and David (Susan) Nagel, Fargo, ND; two daughters, Pam (Mark) Bourdon, West Fargo, ND, and Penny (Mark Blonigen) Nagel, Fargo, ND; nine grandchildren, Dustin, Terra, Lindsey, Ashley, Christopher, Amanda, Natalie, Anna, and Meta; and nine great-children, Zoe, Owen, Brooke, Summer, Jackson, David, Lily, Miles, and Eleanor; one sister-in-law, Myra Nagel, Jamestown, ND; and many dear nieces and nephews. She was proceeded in death by her husband, Richard Nagel; parents, Maurice and Lenore (Gordon); mother-in-law and father-in-law, Charles and Meta Nagel; and one granddaughter, Whitney Carlson.
