Hugo B Anderson, 84, Fargo,  formerly of Walcott, ND, entered eternal life  Wednesday, July 11, 2012. The funeral service will be at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, July 17, 2012 at First Lutheran Church, Fargo. There will be a visitation from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. Monday July 16, 2012 followed by a prayer service at Boulger Funeral Home.

Hugo was born January 3, 1928 at home in Kindred, ND, the youngest son of Hugo Sr. and Betsey (Magenton) Anderson. He attended grade school in Walcott, ND and High School in Kindred, ND. Hugo also attended Moorhead State College.

Hugo worked on the family farm until he served in the US Army from January 14, 1951 to his Honorable Discharge on January 13, 1953.

Hugo was employed at Alloway Manufacturing for a number of years, before going to work for Nash Finch from which he retired in 1983. Hugo and Eva Blotske were married on April 16, 1968. They made their home in Fargo for 30 years before Eva passed away on October 8, 1998. Hugo was active in the Fargo  Moose Lodge and Walcott ND American Legion. He loved to read, watch the Twins and Vikings, and walk.

Hugo was preceded in death by his parents and two older brothers, Byron and Parnell. He is survived by stepson, Charles (LaRayne) (Bunny) Blotske, Aberdeen, SD,  Raymond (Nance) Blotske, Fargo, ND, Scott (Mary) Blotske, Wilton, MN and stepdaughter, Darlene ( Bob) Harsch, Fargo, ND. 13 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren, sisters-in-law Lorraine Anderson and Helen Anderson, nephews, Steve (Renee) Anderson, Keith (Cheryl) Anderson, Carl (Denice) Anderson, niece Barbara (John) Dahlin and niece Sara (Jimmy) Simon.

  1. I am one of Hugo’s 13 grandchildren.

    I never had the privledge of knowing my grandfather Bert, but I did have the blessing of having Grandpa Hugo.
    He was a kind, quiet and gentle man.
    I will cherish his memory always.

    Grandpa Hugo, I hope you were welcomed into heaven by Jesus’ and Grandma Eva’s open arms.
    Please give Grandma great big hugs and kisses and I hope its doesn’t take long for you to find out “what’s cookin.”
