Irene Eblen

Irene Eblen died at the Hillsboro Nursing home on April 17, 2011. She was born on December 29, 1917 at Oslo, Minnesota.
She married Wilbur Eblen on February, 10, 1937 at Oslo, Mn. They moved to Hillsboro that year to farm. They moved into Hillsboro in 1976. She worked at the Hillsboro Nursing Home until 1988. She was a life long member of St Rose of Lima Catholic Church, the Christian Mothers, the Kelso Homemakers and the VFW.
They raised eight children, David (Peggy), Fargo, Kathleen Heising, Fargo, Eileen, (David) Murdock, Fargo, Sister Patrice Eblen, Detroit Lakes, Mn, Glenn, Tom (Deb) Hillsboro, Cecilia (Kenneth) Hillsboro, Mark, East Grand Forks, Mn.
She is survived by 25 grandchildren and 41 great grandchildren. She is survived by one sister, Sister Bernadine Paschke, Crookston, Mn, and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband Wilbur, a son Glenn, seven sisters, four brothers, and a granddaughter, Colleen Heising.

Patrice, I am so sorry to hear of the loss of your Mother. But at this time of year the Promise rings true, doesn’t it? I grieve for your loss, for I surely am not ready to lose my mother. How the two of you look so similar! I pray that God and his People comfort you in your loss…miss your smiling face. I always knew that YOU knew something I didn’t. A note to the family of Irene..
Irene was a bridge friend of mine while my husband and I lived in Hillsboro. I remember how she said that every day she wore earrings. She just didn’t feel completely dressed with them. Irene was a wonderful person. I have such fond memories of her. Janet Olimb
