James L. Quam

Jim passed away on Wednesday, June 2, 2010 at his home in Fargo at the age of 78.

James L. Quam was born on May 10, 1932, the son of Odell and Verna (Dubord) Quam, in Moorhead, MN. He grew up in the Fargo area and graduated from Fargo Central High School in 1950. After his schooling, Jim proudly served his country in the United States Air Force. Upon his discharge, he returned to Fargo and was united in marriage to Mavis Evenson on February 12, 1956. They lived in Fargo where they raised their 4 daughters. Jim began working in Fargo for Perselin Distributing. Jim was united in marriage to Dorla Algeo in August of 1978. They made their home in Fargo where he later worked for Bergseth Brothers, Hamms Beer, Pabst Brewery, and the Heileman Company. Jim and Dorla moved to Roseville, MN in 1989 where he worked for Rex Distributing. They returned to Fargo in 1994 where they have lived since.

Jim is survived by his loving wife, Dorla of Fargo; his children, Terri (Doug) Stavenger of West Fargo, ND; Linda (Lee) Pettie of West Fargo; Debbie (Ed) Dahlin of Omak, WA; Joan Quam of Superior, WI; Kim (Kelvin) Breazaele of Longmont, CO; and Patti Wilson of Oriska, ND; his 12 grandchildren and his 6 great grandchildren. Also surviving are his brother, Bill (Carol) Quam of Florida; his sister, Sharon (Maury) Morgan of Fargo; several nieces and nephews; and many other very dear relatives.

VISITATION: 5-7 PM Sunday, June 6, 2010 at Boulger Funeral Home in Fargo - and also one hour prior to the service in the church on Monday

PRAYER SERVICE: 7 PM Sunday at Boulger Funeral Home

FUNERAL SERVICE: 11 AM Monday, June 7, 2010 at Plymouth Congregational Church in Fargo

BURIAL: St. Benedict's Cemetery in Wild Rice, North Dakota
