James Moreau
April 1, 1933 ~ February 28, 2015
James Harvey Moreau, 81, Fargo, ND passed away on Saturday, February 28, 2015 at Sanford Health. He was born to Harvey and Lillian (Larson) Moreau on April 1, 1933 in Fargo, North Dakota. He attended St. Mary’s, Roosevelt, and Fargo Central Schools. Jim enjoyed playing hockey and was a good pitcher for Fargo Junior Legion baseball.
James served in the Air National Guard and on April 1, 1951 his guard unit was called to active duty to Valdosta, GA and later, Columbus, OH. He was honorably discharged and returned to Fargo.
On April 23, 1954 Jim and Eleanor Hauge were united in marriage and together they had four children.
Throughout Jim’s career, he worked for his parents who owned and operated Fargo Transfer, then began a career as a used car salesman in 1959, winning many awards and prizes. When asked why he chose to sell used rather than new cars, Jim would reply, “New car salesmen are only order takers; you have to know something to sell used cars.” On December 31, 1994 he retired from WWWallworks.
Jim is survived by his wife of 60 years, Eleanor; five children, Cheryl (Mike) Garcia; Brian (Bernice) Moreau; Julie (Harry Abercrombie) Hedstrom; Jana (John) Edmondson; Jeannie (Steve) Lundstrom; brother, Arthur (Linda) Moreau; 12 grandchildren; and 8 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and sister, Jackie Moreau.

We were sorry to hear of Jim’s passing. I know he was going through some medical problems. Jim will be missed deeply as he was a good friend and funny guy. He could be a character with his jokes.

So sorry to hear of your loss. I have many memories of your family from the old neighborhood! I will always remember going for rides on Sunday with your dad and you guys to Stonegate kennels to see the animals and most of all I remember your dads smile! OMG Eleanor, I didn’t know. I just checked Boulgers for obits (I know I’m weird) and there was Jim’s! What can I say. Even when we know the end is drawing near for our loved ones it is still hard to process once it happens. You have my sincere sympathy. Wherever Jim and Joe are now, I’m sure they are having a good time laughing it up about something. Take care of yourself, Eleanor. You are in my thoughts and prayers.
