James A. Rheault, 75, Fargo, ND passed away Wednesday, July 24, 2019 at the Sanford Health Palliative Care Unit, Fargo. James was born August 27, 1943 in Fargo, ND to Adrien and Jean (Sauvageau) Rheault. He graduated from St. Joseph High School in Wild Rice, ND in 1961. He attended North Dakota State College of Science and worked towards learning his profession, working as a plumber/pipefitter, foreman and superintendent until his retirement in 2009. He married Doris Mueller on September 7, 1963 at Nativity Catholic Church, Fargo. They lived in Fargo and West Fargo for 43 years until returning to Fargo in December, 2016. He worked for Robert Gibb and Sons, Midwest Mechanical, West Fargo Plumbing and Heating and Wrigley Mechanical. During his retirement years, he kept busy by working at Tri-State Auction and Hornbacher’s Southgate. He loved the World of Outlaws Sprint Car Racing, NHRA, Nascar Racing and anything you could drive on dirt. His family was very important to him and he enjoyed spending time with his two grandsons, Dylan and Jacob. He was always there to lend a hand when anyone was in need and will be missed by those he leaves behind. He is survived by his wife Doris of 55 years, Fargo, ND; son, Jeff Rheault, Auburn, CA; 2 grandchildren, Dylan and Jacob Brend, Apple Valley, MN; 3 brothers, Clarence Rheault, Fargo, ND, Gary (Lyn) Rheault, Fergus Falls, MN, Louis (Cindy) Rheault, Sioux Falls, SD, 1 sister, Kathleen (Paul) Thompson, Fargo, ND; son-in-law, Darian Brend, Apple Valley, MN. He was preceded in death by his parents, daughter, Jodie Brend who passed away in May, 2019, sister, Dorothy Dunwoodie, niece, Christine (Rheault) Steinbach and nephew, Scott Rheault. Jim’s family would like to thank Dr. Preston Steen and the entire staff at Roger Maris Cancer center for their 6 years of care given to Jim. They also want to thank the staff at the Sanford Health Palliative Care Unit for their compassion and allowing Jim to pass peacefully. Funeral Mass: 11:00 A.M. Saturday, July 27, 2019 at Holy Cross Catholic Church, West Fargo with visitation starting at 10:00 A.M. Interment: St. Benedict Columbarium, Wild Rice, ND.

  5. I knew Jim when we both worked at Adesa. It was always a pleasure to work with him. He will be missed. Our sympathy and prayers for his family.

  6. Although Jim was a few years older than me, I remember him to be a really nice guy. His family was always nice to me and I spent a lot of time with them growing up. I’m sure he will be missed by many. My prayers go out to the family.

  7. I am so sorry to read of Jim’s passing. I visited with him at Hornbachers some time ago. I am also so sorry to read of your daughter’s passing. I sent a card but was the wrong address. So please know that you have been in my prayers, may you find comfort in prayers and well wishes. It was such fun to get to know you on the NE trip a few years ago. May our God bless you with strength and peace.
