James Stromberg

Jim Stromberg, Fargo, passed away May 25, 2015 at home surrounded by family, and under the care of hospice.
Jim was born on February 12, 1959 to Betty and Max Stromberg in Breckenridge, MN. Jim grew up and attended schools in Wahpeton, ND. He then attended Moorhead Technical College after which he worked as a traveling Electrician for the I.B.E.W. nationwide with his home local in Reno, NV, until he became ill.
During his lifetime, he was a selfless person, helping out family and friends whenever they needed him. His hobbies were fishing, hunting, golfing, and cooking.
Jim is survived by his mother, Betty, his brothers Tim (Renee Wetzel) and Bill (Cathy); his sister, Sharon Ponik along with nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his father, Max and his brother Curtis.
The memorial service will be at 6:00 pm Thursday at Boulger Funeral Home and Celebration of Life Center. Visitation will be from 4:00-6:00 pm Thursday.

It was an honor to know you Brother. I wish you didn’t leave us so early. My first memory of you is the cooking you did week in and week out at Doobies place in Salt Lake City. Then many of us migrated to Washington state where you cooked for everyone at the old Stars and Stripes campground. There was always activities at your cabin Bro. I loved being able to come out of my cabin and hangout with you. You will be remembered in my eyes as a Brother who helped so many–even those who didn’t deserve your help. I know it broke your heart to see your Brothers self destruct at times but you were always there. I am happy you were with your family when you stepped off into eternity and not alone in some broken down hotel in an obscure town somewhere in America. I LOVE YOU Brother and will miss you very much.

But know this…the stars are a little brighter, the colors a little more vibrant, the Skies a little clearer as I know Jim is with his Heavenly Father.
I hope that God will assuage your anguish in your hour of bereavement, and leave you with the cherished memories of your beloved son, brother, uncle.

My sympathy to the Stromberg family. Jim was so talented and able to do about anything. He stayed at our lake house for a bit and fixed all kinds of things, made improvements and even picked our apples! I’m glad he was able to be at Sharon’s and close to all of you while he battled cancer. He was loved by many and will be missed by many. Our families grew up together and we’ve been privileged to be able to maintain our relationships throughout the years. So many losses we have experienced but so many good times and good memories. Jim will live on in the hearts of all that loved him. Wish I could be there today with all of you. Love, Loann

To the Stromberg family and friends:
So sorry for this painful loss to your family. Being a Minister, two bible prophecy’s that come two mind is found in the book of Isaiah chap 33 verse 24 where God promises that one day all sickness will be gone. And at Isaiah chap 25 verse 8 where God assures us that he will swallow up death forever. When that time comes the pain that sickness and death brings will be forever eliminated. Until then remember to pray for God’s Kingdom to Come.
I am very sorry for your loss. Although I did not know your loved one personally, I hope knowing that they are in our loving heavenly Father’s memory will bring your family comfort during this difficult time. Very soon now we can look forward to God’s promise at a Revelation 21:4: “… Death will be no more, neither will mourning, nor outcry, nor pain be anymore, the former thing have passed away.”
We are very sorry to hear that Jim lost his battle against cancer. Our thoughts and prayers go out to the whole Stromberg family for your loss.
