James Thomas Rinn, 49, of Fargo, ND, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, February 16, 2018 at his home. James was born February 20, 1968 in Fargo, ND. He grew up in Cando, ND and Minot, ND, graduating from Minot High School. He earned a degree in music from Valley City State University and married his college sweetheart, Bethany Carroll, in Cando in July of 1995. James, also known as “Jimmy” and “Jimmy James” had a kind heart and soul, as well as a silly sense of humor and brilliant smile. He was the kind of friend we all hope to be and was loved by everyone that knew him. After graduating from college, James moved to Fargo where his love of music and phenomenal skills as a drummer landed him a career with Theatrical Media Services of Omaha, staging and running spectacular light shows for famous bands. James also worked with several production companies and bands at various locations in Fargo and, being a multi-talented musician, would occasionally get up on stage with local bands to entertain with AC/DC songs, like “You Shook Me All Night Long.” James will be missed dearly by countless people who were blessed to know him. James is survived by his children, Monte Rinn, CO, and Stephanie (Steve) Hanson, Minot, ND; Parents, David and Patricia Rinn, Dickinson, ND, and Darlene Link, Fargo, ND; Siblings, Patricia (Russ) Carter, Fargo ND, David (Fang) Rinn Jr, WA, Barbara (Rod) Erks, Utica NE, Kris Machado, Minot, ND, Janelle (Claude) Christianson, New Town, ND, and Mary Scott, Bismarck ND; Bethany Carroll-Rinn, CO; 2 grandchildren in Minot, ND, and many nieces and nephews in various parts of the United States.
