Jane R. Devaney, 53, of West Fargo, ND, died Monday, May 17, 2004 at the Villa Maria home in Fargo, ND as a result of a stroke suffered six weeks ago. Survivors include her husband, Pat; two daughters, Megan and Chelsea Turner; one son, Travis Turner; one brother James F. Mitchell and his wife, Sharon and their two sons, Chris and Andy. Included also are special friends, Larry Kolarik, Kathy Powers, Holly Erdman, Julie Cronin, Megan Kadrmas and Patrick Hogan and a large host of cousins and friends. Jane was born August 21, 1950 to Francis and Alma Mitchell, both deceased, at Kingsley, Iowa. She attended Pierson and later Kingsley-Pierson, IA high school, graduating in 1968. She then attended Stewarts School of Hair Styling in Sioux City, IA, and much later studied at NDSU in Fargo, ND. For several years she worked as a hair stylist in western Iowa and in 1970 moved to Minneapolis where she was a housewife. In around 1974 she moved to Sioux Falls, SD and several years later moved to Casselton, ND and finally to West Fargo where she had been employed for many years at the Motor Pool for NDSU. On January 18, 2002 she was united in marriage to Patrick Devaney. Jane enjoyed horseback riding and being in the great outdoors as well as working on various projects in her home, and spending quality time with friends and family. Memorial Services will be held Friday, May 21 at 1:00 P.M. at the Red River Church, 607 9th St. E., West Fargo, ND under the direction of the Boulger Funeral Home of Fargo.
