Janice passed away on Tuesday, March 14, 2017 at Altru Hospital in Grand Forks, ND at the age of 76. Janice Kay Arneson was born on September 7, 1940, the daughter of Adolph and Christine (Olmo) Arneson in Hillsboro, ND. She grew up in Hillsboro and received her education, graduating from Hillsboro High School in 1958. Janice continued her education at Interstate Business College in Fargo. In her earlier years, she worked babysitting, as a waitress, and also at the Traill County Courthouse. Janice was united in marriage to Robert Lorch on January 31, 1969 at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Hillsboro. Together they made their home on a farm near Hillsboro. Janice began working at the Traill County Abstract Company in 1960. She purchased the business in 1985 and owned and operated it until retirement in 1999. She continued to work part time at the abstract company until May of 2016. Throughout the years, Janice was active at her church in WELCA and also served as a Sunday School Teacher. She was a 50 year member of the VFW Auxiliary and served as President. She was also active in the Hillsboro Senior Citizens and served as Vice President and President.  Janice loved to spend time visiting over coffee, playing bingo, working on puzzles, traveling and taking day trips to local destinations. Janice is survived by her husband, Robert of Mayville, ND; her daughter, Wanda (John) Worrel of Wahpeton, ND; her grandson, Nathan Worrel; and her brother, Allan (Genevieve) Arneson of Waynesboro, VA. She was preceded in death by her parents; and her brothers – Donald Arneson and Richard Arneson. The family would like to thank the Altru Hospital and Altru Cancer Center for the wonderful care they provided to Janice in her final days. Also to the very special caregivers at the Sanford Medical Center in Hillsboro, as well as the Hillsboro Ambulance Service. Memorials are preferred to Hospice of the Red River Valley or a charity of the donor’s choice. MEMORIAL SERVICE: 2 PM Sunday, April 2, 2017 at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Hillsboro – with a gathering one hour prior BURIAL: Riverside Cemetery in Hillsboro
