Jean Beck
Jean Beck, 74, passed away unexpectedly August 17, 2018 at Sanford Medical Center in Fargo with her husband by her side.
Jean was born May 26, 1943 to John and Alice (Quam) Slingsby in Fargo, ND. Jean graduated from Fargo Central High School and later attended North Dakota State University. Jean met the love of her life in Hillsboro North Dakota, at the NAPA Auto Parts store parking lot in the summer of 1963. Jerry and Jean later married on September 4, 1964 at First Presbyterian Church in Fargo, North Dakota.
Jerry and Jean resided in Fargo their entire married life. Jean spent her time playing cards and training dogs, fishing, coffee with friends and spending time at the lake waterskiing and passing on this skill to her grandchildren
Jean is survived by her husband, Jerry Beck; children Kristin Payne, Stacy (Wayne) Haugen, Amy (Larry) Hartze; daughter-in-law, LeAnn Beck; eight grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Preceded in death by her parents and her son, Robert (Rob).

I am so fortunate and blessed to have known Jean. I was lucky enough to be able to teach and share Jean and my passion for waterskiing with her children and grandchildren. She was so positive and kind to me and my friends and family. She will be missed dearly. My heart is heavy for her family and friends.
I’m so sorry for your loss. I was friends with Stacy at South High, and though I never had a chance to meet Jean, she seemed like a really wonderful lady. God Bless her and the entire family during this very difficult time.
I will never forget Jean’s kind heart! She had a zest for life that made her special.
She helped me so much with my dog obedience. I will always have a special place,in my memories,for the special times we had in dog obedience.
Jean was a standout person,I will miss her. I know many others will too.
