Jean Jefferies Sornsin Jean Jefferies Sornsin, 76, passed away January 15, 2004, in Cullman, Alabama. She was formerly a long-time resident of Fargo, ND. Jean Jefferies was born July 21, 1927, in Dickinson, ND, to William and Claire (Hemmer) Jefferies. She grew up in western North Dakota and graduated from Killdeer High School in 1944. On November 27, 1948, she married Earl W. Sornsin at St. Mary?s Cathedral in Fargo. After marriage, they lived in Fargo. She was a homemaker, and he founded Sornsin Construction Co. with his brother Tom. They enjoyed traveling extensively. Jean and Earl were charter members of Nativity Catholic Church until their retirement to Alabama in 1989. They are active members of Sacred Heart parish in Cullman, AL. She worked at the Cullman K-Mart store for the past 9 years as a supervisor. She was preceded in death by her parents; one sister, Jane Stevenson; four brothers, Bill, Don, Jack, and Jim Jefferies. Survivors include her husband and best friend of 55 years, Earl Sornsin of Cullman, AL; eight children: Dr. James M. (Karol) Sornsin of Cullman, AL, Jeanette Sornsin of Huntsville, AL, Peg (Paul) Smith of Minnetonka, MN, Patt (Chuck Parker) Sornsin of Kailua, Hawaii, Jeffery (Nancy) Sornsin, Dan Sornsin, and Chuck Sornsin, all Fargo, Dr. Beth Sornsin of Goleta, California; and six grandchildren: Michael & Kristen Sornsin of Alabama, Jared & Nora Smith of Minnetonka, MN, Ashley Sornsin of Moorhead, MN, Joe Sornsin of West Fargo; one brother-in-law, 6 sisters-in-law; and numerous dear friends. Visitation will be from 5:00 - 7:00 pm and a funeral vigil will be held at 7pm on January 22 at Boulger Funeral Home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be Friday, January 23 at 1:30pm at Nativity Catholic Church with a reception following. Internment will be at Holy Cross Cemetery.
